Scampers was a stray kitten on the mean streets of Boston. We adopted him and brought him to Virginia a few years later. We’ve been here for three years, but now have a raucous toddler.
Scampers is an independent but affectionate cat, especially when being fed, and he loves an open lap. He purrs quite loudly and enjoys playing with strings and balls, or climbing chairs/tables.
Unfortunately, Scampers has several challenges. He is low vision and has had a bout with asthma in the past. He moves slowly. We think he was traumatized while a stray because he had behavioral issues when we first adopted him, and he is terrified of loud noises. He is a skittish cat and has acted out when stressed by urinating on our rugs. A walking, talking, screeching toddler has made these issues much worse for him.
We think a quiet home, potentially with other cats, would help him live his best life. We are hoping to find him a loving home where he can enjoy sunny doorways and a cozy lap.
