Atlas arrived at CFC after waiting eighteen months for his spot in the FIV+ Room. He is adjusting to his new surroundings and his fellow roommates. Atlas is incredibly friendly with the staff and volunteers. He loves to be petted and he truly loves to be brushed. As Atlas settles in we hope to see more of his friendly personality and find out more of his likes and dislikes.

More about me from a volunteer: Oh my gosh!!  Our big boy ATLAS is JUST the best cat in the county!  Please don’t tell the other cats you read this on his page but gosh,  he is truly a magnificent being.  I was the lucky one to help transport him to his new safe spot.  It was a 4 hour drive and he was so so good!  Even when we transferred him from one crate to the other mid-transport, I simply opened the doors to each crate and asked him to please relocate to the new crate.  Don’t worry, this actual transfer all happened while we were locked in my car.  Amazingly, Atlas gracefully walked right into the new crate!  Wow!  Just wow!

Atlas is everyone’s immediate best friend albeit human, cat and or dog!  In his prior life, he was living outside with a group of kitties and in a former, former life he also had a dog in his network of friends.  Atlas is the nicest cat.  Super chill, mellow and very, very accepting in his outlook on life,  he’s never in a rush except to get some head rubs and belly scratches.   Does he do laps?  But of course!  Invite him to join you on this level.   Atlas has been appropriately named as he’s a big boy!  Can you say close to 20lbs??  On transport,  I was very happy I opted to bring a larger crate so the new kitty would simply have more space, having no idea his grand scale!  The large crate was a great idea.

I, along with many others, are truly smitten with Atlas.  Almost any home environment would nicely match his pet skills and yes,  he would love to be in charge of caring over kids!   On a final note,  Atlas has no tail…no even a bob tail!   You are welcome to come and inspect him and perhaps you can help him find it, but alas we have had no such luck.  Come on by and see why Atlas could be the perfect pet for you and your family!
