- HISTORY: Mari was trapped as a stray on Shores road.
Mari’s adorably fluffy face has proven irresistible to all who meet her! Though she came to us very timid, she has been coming out of her shell in a big way and will no longer run if you approach her slowly. She isn’t fully comfortable with her new home yet, but we’ve been giving her pets and attention daily and it’s been doing her wonders. We’ve even caught her purring a little bit! We’re excited for more of her personality to emerge as time goes on, but right now she’s a chill, laid-back cat who just likes to watch the world go by. Update Spring 2022: Mari participated in our 2022 March Meow Madness competition in the hopes of securing a pile of treats and toys. She put up a strong showing, but lost to CFC veteran Lola in the first round. Mari is one of our shyer cats and many haven’t heard her meow. If you get a step ladder and visit her on top of her favorite haunt, the cat condo, she’ll almost certainly greet you with an absolutely adorable coo. This fantastic fluffball is definitely worth a visit!
Update Fall 2022: Mari is such a dear cat! Trapped in a local cat colony, she was very timid upon arrival and still is searching for her brave boots. To this end, we have more recently moved her from one of our cat rooms to our busy Scratching Post kitchen area. Here, she is getting much more daily hands interaction from staff and volunteers and already we can see the benefits in her more relaxed posturing and her attempts to exit her condo and relax on a cart right next to her condo. By far her favorite person is Volunteer Scott. When she hears his voice, she literally starts chirping with excitement knowing he will love on her soon! Mari is healthy and getting more happy day by day. What a beautiful cat!
