HISTORY: Angus was surrendered after his owner was no longer able to care for him.
When he first arrived, Angus had to spend most of his time in a cat condo due to ringworm. When he was finally let out, the thought of going back in the condo left him grumpy and a bit reactive towards people. After just a few days of freedom, though, it’s as if he’s a completely different cat. Angus typically won’t seek people out but enjoys being pet by people he trusts. Since he’s a bit of an older fellow, Angus prefers to spend most of his time relaxing on blankets. We’ve also started letting him into the laundry room so he can have access to the enclosed porch. This is where Angus is at his happiest. He loves to stretch out in the sun and watch the world go by. When he’s outside he will even happily greet and approach visitors! Angus is also inquisitive and likes to explore. We sometimes find him in unexpected places. Don’t let his grumpy façade fool you. Angus is a layered, loving cat who would make an excellent addition to your home.
Spring Update 2025: At 15yrs of age, our old man ANGUS spends most of his days sleeping. Can you blame our handsome friend as he has access to some of the most plush and fluffy cat beds and cozy spots in the county? Angus is grateful to see his good human friend Scott as he might report, “He gives me the best body rubs and pets. I lean into his loving hands and he makes me feel super nice and loved.” Angus continues to opt to hang near his good kitty friend Allison, who like him, is more sedentary and not looking for a lot of action and moving around. With his blood work staying the same, he’s pretty much just dealing with issues related to aging like hearing loss and being more quiet natured. Otherwise, he’s on track to keep on truckin.’
Winter Update 2025: I am marking my 15th birthday this month and while there was not too much fare in my room, on a personal note the exciting news is that I have a new lady friend, of sorts! Her name is Allison and yes, I am a bit of a cougar as she is 6 yrs my junior. She and I have found the perfect spot in the room to enjoy each other’s company. I’ll take the high road and stretch right on top of her kitty cube. If I peek over the edge and if she looks up at the same time, our eyes lock in joy! It’s been kind of nice to have a new real estate spot in the room and with a shy lady friend Allison to help ease along my days, well my heart is content. My health is still not perfect but I am 15. Did I mention that?? LOL. I’m on a special kidney diet and thyroid meds. A recent blood panel shows everything is normal, so that’s good news. I can sort of “hear” folks chatting and saying I’m getting hard of hearing as my meows are really quite voluminous but no matter to me as when I meow, they come running. Finding a partner (of sorts) in my golden years is surely icing on the cake for this older, salty guy. ANGUS
Fall 2024 Update: My good human friend Scott knows where to find me in my room. When he enters, he comes straight away to the space in between the 2 condos which has a skylight that I consider my other “good friend.” LOL. I love having the sun warm my bones and my body. Ahhh, so therapeutic for me! Scott will tell you that he thinks I was a bit more active/alert in general this summer and perhaps just feeling a little better. He might also say he has concerns about my hearing as I may not be as responsive to his chatter as I have been previously. He could be right about my ears. I’m still on a special diet for my kidneys so while I am not in perfect health, I’m getting along. As one of the oldest kitties in my room, I still think I’m doing ok. ANGUS
