HISTORY: Basil was found as a stray at a rental property; unfortunately, the occupants were unable to take him with them when they relocated.

Basil welcomes human interaction, though he’s not overly demanding when it comes to physical affection. He enjoys receiving pets, but in moderation. He does not seek out constant companionship and isn’t a typical lap cat, but he enjoys being in the same room as people.

Basil prefers the quiet life, finding solace in secluded spots and peaceful condo tops, where he can observe the other cats and people from a safe distance. Basil enjoys playing with cat toys. Whether it’s chasing a feather wand or batting around a soft ball, he loves engaging in fun activities that stimulate his mind and body.

If you’re looking for a feline friend who offers affection without being overly demanding, Basil might just be the purr-fect match for you! We believe Basil would thrive in a home where he has quiet corners for napping, window perches for bird watching and cozy hideaways for alone time.

More about me May 2025: Meet Basil!

Found as a stray at a rental property, Basil was left behind when the tenants moved—but he’s ready for a fresh start with someone special.

With striking golden eyes and a meow like no other (think more honk than meow—reminiscent of an Oriental Shorthair!), Basil is full of personality. He’s affectionate and enjoys attention but on his own terms. Not a lap cat, he prefers hanging out nearby, quietly observing the world around him.

Basil loves wand toys and engaging playtime but also cherishes peaceful solitude. He thrives in a calm, quiet environment with cozy spots to nap, window perches for birdwatching, and humans who respect his independent spirit.

Basil must be the only pet in the home—he does not get along with other cats or dogs. If you’re seeking a one-of-a-kind feline companion with charm, smarts, and a voice you’ll never forget, Basil might just be your guy!
