DSH- Brown Tabby

HISTORY: Hiccup was surrendered along with his littermate, Toothless (adopted), from a large unmanaged cat colony with ~100 cats.

Introducing Hiccup! When he first arrived, he exhibited significant shyness and fear, similar to many of the cats rescued from the colony. Having had little interaction with humans, he had not yet developed trust or the ability to accept their affection.

During his time at CFC, Hiccup has made remarkable progress in socializing with others, transforming into a loving and interactive kitty who eagerly seeks affection from those he trusts. While he tends to be a bit reserved around new people, often choosing to watch from a distance before interacting, once he feels comfortable, he absolutely loves receiving head pets.

Hiccup enjoys a great rapport with the other cats in his vicinity at The Scratching Post. He spends his days playfully frolicking with Pickle, another feline from the colony. Hiccup loves engaging with cat toys, particularly relishing the chase of a wand toy as it is tossed around. After playtime you might catch him dozing atop one of the condos or lounging on a cat tree in his space.

We think Hiccup would thrive in a home with other like-minded cats. If you’re interested in bringing Hiccup into your family, please visit our website and fill out an adoption application.

Volunteer Update February 2025: In the market for a male cheerleader type kitty? Well, if “Yes,” then look no further than our good tabby friend HICCUP! While Hiccup had a less than stellar very early childhood eking out an existence at the local cat colony we are slowly shutting down, this kitty has totally risen to the top of his pet game and will make an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G pet! Now almost a year old, Hiccup has plenty of get up and go, a big dose of kitty curiosity and wherever you are, well that’s where he will also wish to be. Never meeting a stranger, he is silly, goofy, most playful and a huge networker! He’s in the mix of things and in his element being part of the action and creating the action. During a recent round of photos for example, he quickly stretched out and made himself at home on the camera lady’s notepad and was fast with his paws to make her pen go flying in the air!

Hiccup is one of the first greeters in his room and his best friend is PICKLE (also a tabby) who arrived from the colony around the time that he arrived. The two of them are wonderful together- beautifully checking in and interacting with each other and complimenting each other. Hiccup equally loves other kitties as he does his humans. If you sit for a spell, Hiccup might hop on over and make himself at home in your lap. Very athletically inclined, mischievous and in the hunt for a good time, as many cats as we have under our care, imagine the compliment that he received from a staff member indicating that he’s truly one of the most handsome tabbies she’s ever seen. WHOA!! Don’t take our word for it though. Please, please come and experience Hiccup first hand and be prepared to fall in love.
