HISTORY: Maple was surrendered from a local unmanaged colony.
Allow us to introduce you to Maple, a sweet, short-haired black kitten. Maple’s journey began in a colony where she received little attention or affection, leaving her quite frightened when she first arrived at the sanctuary. However, in the few months she has been with us, her transformation has been heartwarming to witness.
When Maple first came to us, she was understandably timid. Yet, with patience and gentle care, she has made significant progress in her socialization. While she remains a bit shy, she is undeniably friendly and enjoys being petted. Maple is still learning to embrace being held, but she’s open to it with someone she trusts.
Maple shares a special bond with her “littermate,” Autumn. The two kittens often engage in mutual grooming sessions and playful antics, showcasing their compatibility and the comfort they find in each other’s presence. Their friendship could be a wonderful asset for someone looking to adopt a pair of kittens who already have a strong relationship.
Maple’s playful side shines through when she interacts with her favorite toys. She has a particular fondness for balls with bells, crinkly balls, and wand toys that she can watch swing around. These play sessions not only help her burn off energy but also build her confidence and trust in human interaction.
