HISTORY: Mr. Dinkles was surrendered along with his littermates, Chenille and Satin (now adopted), from a local unmanaged cat colony with ~100 cats.
Allow us to introduce Mr. Dinkles, sporting his sleek black fur! When he first arrived at CFC, he was quite scared and preferred to avoid human contact, often hissing to keep people at bay. This behavior is not unusual for cats from his colony, where they had minimal interaction with humans, resulting in a lack of trust and acceptance of affection from us.
With ample time and patience, Mr. Dinkles gradually emerged from his shell, revealing the lovable cat he truly is. His initial breakthrough came when he demonstrated to our staff and volunteers how much he enjoys playing with a wand toy! This marked the beginning of his journey toward trusting and accepting our affection. As we worked with him to foster his trust in people, we allowed him to guide the pace of his socialization. Mr. Dinkles now delights in being petted and will curl up in your hand while you gently stroke his head. At this moment, he has not show any interest in being picked up or held.
Mr. Dinkles has a friendly rapport with the other cats in his room at The Scratching Post, though he doesn’t actively seek their companionship. He often prefers to spend his days in solitude, lounging either in a snug cat tree or on a shelf bed. Occasionally, he enjoys the company of Chenille, another colony cat who arrived alongside him, as they cuddle together.
