Female

DSH - Mostly white with random brown patches and stunning blue eyes.

HISTORY:  Peaches was pulled from a county shelter when she was struggling and no longer thriving.

Peaches arrived at CFC in April from South Carolina. There, she had happily spent the first ten years of her life and was looking forward to her senior years. Instead, she developed a urinary infection—not unusual for a cat of her age—and easily treatable. It was. She recovered fully. But her human guardians for whatever murky reasons no longer wanted her.

She quickly settled into life at CFC. When I first met her, she was dozing on a deep bed and was unfazed when I opened her condo door and offered my hand. She curiously sniffed at it, then leaned into it, asking to be petted. Now she welcomes all attention and usually rolls onto her side so I can rub her tummy.

Her condo is open but so far she’s shown little inclination to come out and explore. However, treats coax her out onto a tower in front of her condo. I usually find her curled up like a bread loaf, snoozing. I’m sure this means she’s relaxed and feels safe in her new environment. Recently, another volunteer gently lifted her out and cuddled Peaches on her lap.

She has a striking appearance. She’s predominantly white with a gray tail, cap and splotches here and there. Her eyes are pale blue. Genetically, I understand where their blue color comes from but a small brown patch on each leg puzzles me. Collectively, her markings are a bit unusual, making her a special cat.
