DSH- Black and White
HISTORY: Suzie Q was found in an abandoned barn with her three kittens.
Take a look at those extraordinary eyes! Suzie Q, a long time CFC resident is extremely shy. “She is a quiet lady who spends most of her day with her gal pal Cornelia. Suzie Q isn’t one to socialize with either people or any cat who isn’t Cornelia. Although, there has been the rare occasion of our two old biddies making room for another cat in their cozy cat bed, just as long as the “3rd wheel” follows their color scheme.” is how CFC volunteer, Scott, describes Suzie Q!
With the assistance of staff and volunteers, who have been slowly and gently working towards her socialization, we have found that if she is approached slowly and offered some of her preferred treats, she may permit you to give her a soft pet or two.
We feel Suzie Q would thrive in a quiet home along with another cat with a very similar personality and an extremely cat savvy person, willing to give her time and space to adjust to a new environment.
Fall 2024 Update: You may have heard our quarters are getting a bit cramped and or you could look at it as if our popularity has soared! As you know, it’s a super rare moment that I’m not in a bin curled up and cuddling with my bestie Cornelia. We’re pretty much inseparable…well, me from her, mostly! In any event, our good human friend Volunteer Scott, recently caught the 2 of us with kitties Sweet Tart and also Pancake smooshed into our already cramped quarters. Crazy, I say! Yep. So there we all were ….the 4 of us all….pretty much equally as shy of the humans as the other, mushed together. Scott is a smart cookie though and while he was tempted to come and perhaps touch us all at once, he knew better. He knew to enjoy us from a far so the moment would not be broken and forever lost. Having more feline friends is no doubt good for my heart and my health. SUZIE Q
Spring 2024 Update: Very much a creature of habit, I’m still hanging out and spending most of my day spooning with my bestie friend Cornelia. With plenty of larger, oversized plastic bins filled with fleece, there is a great assortment of luxury accommodations to maximize our time together. Volunteer Scott who routinely comes in under the guise of socializing us all (I personally think he’s a spy LOL) has observed that more and more, Cornelia might be stretched out and literally on top of me as we rest. Since we last spoke, newer arrival Pancake has been joining Cornelia and I during slumber time which is A- Ok with me. Pancake is pretty shy and reserved around the humans, so we all have this commonality. I am still super healthy so I’m able to sit back and enjoy the long, steaming summer as it soon comes in full force. SUZIE Q
