SIMBA

Look at that face!!!! This sweet boy bounces like a bunny rabbit when he’s happy!
Simba is a sweet boy that was saved from a terrible hoarding case back in June. He is a sweet boy who is shy at first but warms up quickly. He is dog selective – he is fine with some dogs but not fine with others. He has dog friends at our shelter so he can get along with dogs with proper introductions and experienced owners. However, he loves all people and is very gentle. After spending three years in a terrible hoarding situation, where he lived mostly in a filthy small wire crate, all he wants is to be outside, to receive love and attention, and to play. He is about 4.5 years old and spent 3 years in the hoarding house and 8 months at our shelter. But he still has hope and a love for life and people. We recently discovered that he really enjoys playing in the kiddie pool. He’s a laid back guy who would love to just hang out on the couch with you. He is neutered, heartworm negative, and utd on shots. His past hasn’t stopped him from loving and trusting people. It’s just past time for his happy ending.
According to our volunteers who walk our dogs regularly, he does great on the leash and does not pull. He is sweet and prances happily and does not seem concerned with the feral cats who wander our property. He basically notices them but then ignores them. Note: simba has been in several play groups and usually does just fine but there have been a few dogs that he reacted to negatively. We’re not sure why. But he’s usually good with other dogs but needs to go to somebody with dog experience. Also, while he ignores the feral cats at our shelter, the hoarding house owner reported to us that he dislikes cats. We feel like if Simba had the opportunity to live a real life like a dog is supposed to, his true personality would not be aggressive toward cats.
