Female

Medium : 20 - 45 lbs.

Hound Mix- Sleek tan coat with subtle white chest blaze and white around her muzzle.

HISTORY: Bambi was found hanging around a staff member’s house. She was under weight and clearly needed help. She would hide in the woods during the day, and only come out in the evenings to see Kelsey’s dog and gobble up some kibble. Over a period of weeks, she began to trust Kelsey, and Kelsey was able to catch her and bring her here to CFC. On the day of her arrival, this poor baby escaped through a very small gap in the fence at Parsley’s Place. Luckily due to the diligence of the amazing staff at CFC, we were able to catch her. She now has a safe, secure, climate controlled space in the T&E building.

About Bambi:
Bambi is a delicately built houndy mix with a coat and eyes of deer. Hence the name Bambi. Although she is quite shy, she clearly craves attention. I can see her anxiety when she is doing so. I feel as though she has not seen the kinder side of people in her past, and yet this brave girl is still willing to give us a chance. Each day is a challenge for her as she learns basic dog things, such as wearing a collar and walking on a leash. Although these things are strange and scary to her, she powers through it all. Her confidence is growing daily, and her sweet disposition shines despite her clear terror of such drastic changes from being a former lonely lady of the woods. Bambi has the heart of a true champion. With patience, kindness, and time, this petite lady is gonna be amazing. Could you be the right person to help her be the winner she is going to be?

More about me November 2024: Sweet.  Social.  Flirty.  Loving.  Beautiful.  Thoughtful.  Playful.  Bouncy.  Ready for love!  If you are in the know, then it’s clear we are talking about new arrival, hound mix BAMBI.   Bambi is so very, very pretty, good natured and gentle in her ways.   Found roaming around a staff member’s back yard,  it took some time and diligence and building up of trust for her to be caught.  Once she was caught,  it was almost as if there was a sigh of relief from Bambi as she knew she had landed in loving, capable and caring hands.   Our pretty tan friend was rather underweight so it’s clear she had been on her own for a while.  She’s now at a great weight, her spirits are high,  she’s widening her circle of friends at CFC daily and gosh,  we enjoy her!!

Bambi is young at heart and also on paper.  Just 7 mos old and 40lbs,  she has a very appealing puppy vibe to her.  She’s playful and goofy and we’re beginning to see her free spirit which is a real joy to witness.   Bambi is starting to lay on thick kisses, hugs and dashing, darting moves hoping to get your attention and really, some love from you!!   She has evolved into a very skilled and most excellent leash walker.  You go girl! Bambi still has some moments of pause and caution but those moments are becoming but a distant memory as her confidence grows and we reward her actions with kindness and also good snacks!

Already Bambi has directly started to give back while under our care. We have a more shy fella LANDO, who is very frightened of just about everything. Curiously, he’s taken an immediate and real liking to her. To this end, as we are cleaning Bambi’s kennel inside, we let Lando loose (as we clean his kennel) and invariably he heads over to check in with his girlfriend. It’s a sweet moment and we don’t tire of it! It’s a win-win for both doggies as they boost each other’s confidence and lift each other’s spirits while building their friendship.

Bambi is truly on the cusp of pet greatness and we sense she deeply desires to have a family and folks to care for. Having another doggy in residence would likely be a good choice to help her settle in and be at her best. We’re super excited thinking about the family that will welcome this wonderful girl into their home. Might your home be right for her??
