BLAZE

HISTORY: Blaze was found wandering on our property.  With a little help from resident doggy Leah who lured him into her pen, we were able to capture Blaze and officially welcome this (originally) shy fella to our property.

Back story. Blaze was found wandering around at CFC. Clearly, he was in need of help. Without a proper warm place to lay his head or food to sustain him, we knew we had to step in. However, Blaze was not too sure about us people, but he definitely liked our dogs. Lucky for us, a long-time resident dog at CFC named Leah was down with the mission. It took over a week, but with her help, we were able to lure Blaze to safety. Thanks, Leah. About Blaze… Blaze is a small bully mix whose past is unknown. We feel this guy was on his own for quite some time. Likely lacking the smallest of creature comforts. But Blaze certainly lives in the moment. Although shy at first, he now embraces his new life. Blaze now wears a huge smile on his face when you visit him. He welcomes all of his newfound people friends with vigor and soaks up all the love he can get. Happy to greet you with a play bow and huge grin. Blaze walks like a dream on a leash, sits like a gentleman, and leans in tight for snuggles. He is a true testament to all that our past does not define us. Looking for an older mellow, sweet fellow? Blaze is just that.

Volunteer Update February 2025: Blaze is a doll baby!  I was told he might be cautious/shy when we first met, but he was the cutest little Mexican jumping bean when I went to leash him up for our first walk.   Front and center in his pen,  he was all smiles,  soft bounce and wag wag tail.  He was super happy to have been selected to go for a walk. No shyness here!  Blaze is a delight!  This smaller framed fella IMO looks much more like an oversized beagle with a strong nod to some hound blood!  He’s a light hearted, carefree guy especially when he’s out on our trails sniffing and exploring but can startle over simple things so slow and steady and easy does it is a great approach as he settles in and gets to know you.   Graced with a loveable snuggly, cuddly side he is responsive to his human and truly wishes to please them.   While he may have a more serious expression in some of his photos,  his silly, goofy side lurks just below that smart looking tan coat.  Towards the end of our walk for example,  Mr Very Polite and Well Mannered himself,  decided to break dance on his back, wiggling with his legs in the air and the sun nicely warming his soft belly area.  Blaze is immensely sweet and gentle and just an all around great little dog.  Oh, the lucky family that gets to call this delightful pet their new full time friend.  Might that be you?
