HISTORY: Brandy arrived at a stray at a high kill county shelter. When space became an issue, we spoke up for her.

More about me December 2024: Miss Brandy continues have a contagious happiness. She lights up the place with her joy. This pretty lady is quite the tomboy of the doggo world. She can get pretty excited when seeing her favorite people. Sometimes her energy gets the best of her. On such occasions she has been known to give happy body kicks. She does know who will allow her tough love and who will not. But true to her child like spirit will test this theory. In her defense her love is just intense. I think Brandy identifies as a little lap dog rather than the mid sized kid she is. Brandy does settle down nicely when given a nice long stroll and lots of praise. Brandy is very smart and can and does have excellent manners. Here at CFC Brandy has a warm, comfy spot in the kitchen at night. She will gladly go in her crate and does not soil her cozy spot. While crated she keeps herself busy with a few toys and seems quite content. This high energy girl would do best in a home that enjoys long walks, cuddle time, and lots of enrichment. She can be dog selective and would probably do well as an only dog or with the right dog friend. Also a nice enclosed space to run would be ideal.

This girl was spectacular during photo time as she bounced around meeting humans and other doggies with lots of kisses and tail wags to share. At just a couple of years of age, Brandy is young at heart and also young in her actions. She loves to go and do and be a part of the action. You can make yourself comfy on the sidelines while she puts on a fun show of running, playing and wrestling. When the show is over, count on her to come on over and chill and relax right by your side hoping to get some love and TLC from you! Brandy did well with both male and female dogs. She loves engaging with them and wrestling with them, if the other party is interested! She is a more solid girl and athletic in her build so a good long hike would be right up her alley but don’t forget she will want to have her nuzzle, one on one time with you! A kissy, affectionate girl, Brandy “you’re a fine girl, such a fine girl.”

More about me March 2024: Did you happen to see BRANDY out and about in Palmyra this morning?? If so, she was on a Grand Adventure to check out what everyday life is like outside the Sanctuary. By the looks of it, she had a “grand” time- I mean check out all the smiles! 

Brandy was “all in” as she hopped in the volunteer’s car to head into town. #TractorSupplyPalmyra was the first stop and she was a hit!! The staff was super welcoming of our 4 legged friend and employees Ann and Natalee plus a random customer were all tail wags as they gave Brandy plenty of hugs and kisses and even a snack or two. She was terrific walking up and down the aisles as if she were a skilled shopper. Our next stop was #CuppaJoePalmyra where Barista Hannah was clearly delighted to bring a Pup Cup curbside for Brandy to indulge in. Even though it was still early in the day, it’s very possible Brandy totally made her day. Just ask Hannah! Hannah was just super excited to be a part of making Brandy’s day just a little bit better!

We are grateful for these 2 local businesses for welcoming Brandy today and are hopeful the extra press on our sweet girl will perhaps connect her with her new family. Note: Brandy is a 4 yr old lab/bully mix and about 45lbs. She has tested well with cats but is pretty selective about her doggy friends. While she does have some energy to share/spare, as evidenced by our outing today, she’s a very manageable girl who craves attention and affection and she’s ready to be right by your side as you go and do in the community.
