CONNIE

HISTORY:  Siblings Connie and Sue found themselves in a very challenging outside environment which was complicated by the fact that their human was severely ill in the hospital.  Alerted to their situation, we stepped up to help this lovely pair of pups.  Note:  Sue was adopted!

She’s a big girl now!  CONNIE led a very challenging life prior to her arrival at the Sanctuary, but today she’s ready to “wow” you with her stellar, poofy looks and her sweet, snuggly nature.   Although Connie can be a little shy when you first meet,  give her a little time to warm up and check you out and just watch her blossom right before your eyes.   Our poofy friend is not tiny in size (Uh, think 80lbs) and her big, loving personality beautifully compliments her larger footprint.   Connie bonds deeply with her humans and is very social and engaging.

In her new home, we can see her nicely settling into a more rural setting and a household with a moderate level of activity.   She loves, loves, loves water so a kiddy pool or lakeside opportunities would be da’ bomb for our girl.  She’s open to sharing her new home with other dogs and in fact they could be a huge plus in showing her the ropes in a home environment.  Slightly older kids might also be a good choice for her so if you have kids and or a dog,  bring them out and let’s see if it’s a match!!   If you’ve read this far, perhaps Connie is the one for you!  Please connect with us and let’s move Connie into her first ever home! 

Extra, fun detail from Trainer Wen: Quirky Connie?  Well, we’ll let you be the judge.  There are lots of silly habits that are quite amusing and adorable with our fluffy friend.  She absolutely loves her pool and spends a lot of time soaking in it. She also has been known to dunk her head in her water bucket on occasion. At meal times Connie will pick her bowl up and carry it to her preferred spot before eating it. She also has an interesting way of making sure to get the food off the sides of the dish. She literally puts her top teeth on the outside of the bowl and uses her bottom teeth as a shovel. She is careful not to scratch her teeth on the bowl but thoroughly empties it. When given stuffies she prefers to bury them rather than play with them, but will happily play fetch with a tennis ball. Connie also really loves her humans and really needs a family to call her own. Although a little shy at first, she does come around rather quickly.
