HISTORY: Tripp was found as a stray wandering the roads near CFC.

Tripp was seen running along the road by the Sanctuary for months. After many attempts of trying to coerce him into our cars, Tripp has finally decided to end his game of cat and mouse. This sweet boy was seen in the driveway and allowed a staff member to approach him and place him in her vehicle. Ever since, Tripp has shown staff and volunteers nothing but love and affection.

Tripp is a very affectionate, snuggle bug. He has a strong desire to show everyone just how much love he has to give from tiny kisses to gentle nose bumps and hugs. The only thing he is missing is a home and a couch to snuggle up with a special someone. When he is not making friends with humans we can guarantee that he is trying to make friends with any pup he sees. His inquisitive personality can make walking him an adventure. While never experiencing what it is like to walk on a leash he is quickly learning some leash manners and with a little bit of time, patience, and some training, Tripp would without a doubt be someone’s dream dog.

Whether it is a trip to the park, a hiking trail, or a snuggle on the couch, Tripp will be happy with anything his human chooses. The only question left to ask is…

More about me November 2024: Tripp is actually a trip. He will make you smile with his absolutely quirky self. Tripp recently got moved to a large enclosure near the post. He now has Mila and Amara as his new girl friends. They reside in the pen next to his. Mila seems to be trying to catch his eye. Hard to tell if she has or not, because Tripp is way more interested in his human friends. He is such a cute fella with his soft, kind amber eyes. Tripp is very unique in some of his behaviors. While walking, occasionally, Tripp will stop and start back up as if something is frightening him. We are unclear as to what may cause this, but he is making great progress with some interesting training techniques we are using. Usually you can tell when he is about to have a moment and can easily redirect him with the touch command. If you miss it, just turn away and act as though you are digging at something. This really sparks his interest. Then a little baby talk goes along way. Because Tripp wants to be close to his person at all times, his fears are outweighed by his need to be with you. We suspect that somewhere in his journey before landing here that something scarred him a little. But one thing is for sure Tripp is not letting that stop him from being super connected with people. He remains a jolly, social doggo. Tripp is the glass is half full kind of guy. Could you be the other half?
